Men's Group

What we are:

The group is flexibly structured to support genuine conversation, community, and participation for men in our Center.

We discuss and share topics that interest us personally, support growth, and allow us to get to know each other better.

Informal facilitation or focusing of our meetings is shared so no one person is the only leader, but you don't have to lead to participate.

When we meet:

On the first and third Thursday of each month at 3pm - adjourn no later than 4:30pm. February 2012 meetings will be the 2nd and 16th.

Where we meet:

We meet at homes of various members.  The February 2, 2012 meeting will be at Bill Brown's home.

Contact Bill Brown, Mac McNamar, Don Clark, Jack Housden or Sol Goldsmith following our Sunday service to find out more about the group and meeting location.

Supplies for Soldiers at the Front Lines

We are engaging in a year-long project of supplying front-line soldiers with small packets of needed and wanted items. Bring them to church any Sunday and they will be delivered to Camp Pendleton to be carried right into the hands of our boys and girls.

Please write short notes of encouragement to the service men and women. Cut the front off your old Christmas cards and write the note on them.

All items must fit into quart-sized baggies.

Possible items include: Small books, moist wipes, snacks (edible items must be in original sealed wrappers), odor eaters, chapstick, personal-sized packages of tissues, pens, disposable digital cameras, playing cards, eye drops, wrapped candies [not chocolate], travel games, small items from hotels, sauce packets from fast food places, sunblock, or any other small items that you feel they might enjoy or need.

These items may not be included: Soaps, spray cans, batteries, unwrapped edibles.

Comfort Shawl Ministry

Provide comfort and love for members of our congregation or for others in need of comfort and love -- ask for Donnee Prestia for details.

We knit strips, then stitch the strips together (sort of like Joseph's coat of many colors). When completed the shawls will be given to someone in our congregation or to someone in need of the loving comfort these shawls will provide.

Sunday Lunch

Almost every Sunday an informal group join together for lunch following the service and hospitality time. If you are interested in joining the group just ask someone where they are meeting for lunch this Sunday. If you want to ride with someone, just let us know.
